Week 5 Update

Hello Sailfish families!

Great job to all of the swimmers! Upcoming this week- there is a lot, so PLEASE READ:

***DECLARATIONS ARE DUE TONIGHT, SUNDAY JUNE 21st at 11:59pm*** for the Wednesday June 24th meet vs Potomac Crossing. If you think your swimmer is declared, please double check status. We are not able to enter late declarations.

Monday June 22nd is our team swim party at the AV Symmington Aquatic Center from 5:00pm-7:00pm (this is a pay on your own event). Please make sure to RSVP (in swimtopia) as we will also have pizza to round off our water fun!

Wednesday June 24th, after practice, we will “chalk the walk” for our meet Wednesday night against the Potomac Crossing Barracudas.

Wednesday June 24th

Meet vs Potomac Crossing Barracudas at home (Potomac station pool) at 6:00pm

Arrival time: 5:00pm (we do expect your swimmers to do their warm up with their age group)

Theme: Neon/Glow (my personal favorite)

Team pictures are on Thursday June 25th at 7:30am sharp. Please plan to arrive at 7:15am. Be sure to have your Potomac Station tshirt from this year and suit or jammers on.

There is a mini meet at our pool at 9:00 start (with an 8:30am warm up), so please stay to help out with our mini meet or cheer our younger sailfish athletes on!

-There is NO practice for big sailfish for any practice times on Thursday!

Meet reminders:

If you will not be able to stay for relays, and you are aware of this ahead of time, we ask that you do NOT declare your swimmer as “attending”, but rather “attending (no relays)”. We enter relay swimmers based on your declarations- if a swimmer tells us the day of the meet that they can no longer swim, we may have to cancel their relay entirely because we planned on relay entries based off of swimmer declarations. It’s really not fair to those who were looking forward to relay participation and then can no longer do so. Even if you are not swimming a relay, stay! They are really fun to watch and cheer! We had some exciting, close finishes at our meet yesterday!

Please remember to have your swimmers pick up their trash after the meet.

Check our lost and found- we have a few items that belong to swimmers or patrons.

See you on deck!

-Coach Tasha, Coach Adam, & Coach Ava
