Weekly (4) update
Hello sailfish families!
***Please read as there are a lot of updates this week.***
Happy Sunday and Happy (rainy) Father’s Day! Great job to all who swam at our meet against Willowford North yesterday. There were a really good amount of time drops, even though we didn’t pull off a win for the meet.
We will continue to work on our strokes and areas that need improvement this week as we start morning practices.
Practice times will be as follows:
8:00-9:00am: 9-12 year olds
9:00-9:45am: 8 & under
9:45-10:45am: 13-18 year olds
*Mentors- please arrive around 7:45am. We will use mentors for our first two big sailfish practices, as well as need a good amount for our little sailfish.
Little Sailfish officially start tomorrow (Monday June 16th) and Coach Ava has sent out session times via email. If you have any questions, please reach out to her. The two session times are 8:45-9:15am and 9:15am-9:45am.
Tomorrow (Monday) will be pancake breakfast (weather permitting)! Come have some flapjacks after practice.
Please declare your swimmer(s) for our home meet on Wednesday, June 18th at Potomac Station Pool. Please have your swimmer(s) on deck for our warm up at 5:00pm. Meet start time is 6:00pm.The theme for this meet will be in 80’s themed, so grab your neon fanny packs and put in your side ponies and come out for a fun night and meet!
***Meet declaration reminders:
For Wednesday evening meets, please declare your swimmer(s) by 11:00pm on the the Sunday before (for example, declarations are due by 11pm tonight, Sunday, for the meet this Wednesday June 18th).
For Saturday meets, please declare your swimmer(s) by 11:00pm on the Wednesday before (for example: declarations will be due this Wednesday, June 18th for the Saturday June 21st morning meet).
Caps and shirts are available for pick up if you have not done so already.
Don’t forget sunscreen and please make sure swimmers are staying hydrated. Even though they’re in the water, they still sweat. So please ensure they bring water with for practice and have it available. We are going to have some hot days ahead in the upcoming weeks during practice times and we want to do our best to avoid dehydration and cramping.
See you on the pool deck!
