Hello Sailfish families,

We are so excited that Mother Nature has cooperated this week and we have had a great week of practices. It is amazing to see so many new as well as old familiar faces at the pool! Don’t forget that the deadline to sign up for time trials is tonight at midnight.

If you have not ordered your team suit yet, you should do this as soon as possible. The link for our team suit is on our website under team store https://pssva.swimtopia.com/swimoutlet-team-store If you are not sure of the size you need we do have a suit try on kit and you can contact Dot Shaw ([email protected]) to coordinate a time to find your size.

I wanted to also pass on a survey that ODSL has asked us to send out to our swim families asking about plans for the end of the season meets. Click here for the survey.

Finally I wanted to highlight some non swim meet events we have planned for the season.

• Thursday 6/12 is our last evening practice and we plan on -selling burgers and hot dogs at grill night at the pool. This is for all swim team families (just tell the guards you are with swim team) and it is also open to the Potomac Station community. So tell all your friends and neighbors to take a night off and come up to the pool for dinner. It’s a great fundraiser for the team and you do not have to cook. Please check the events page for volunteer opportunities to help with grill night – the signups are open!
• Monday 6/16 is our first morning practice and we will be celebrating by making pancakes for the swimmers after their practices. This is something we try to do a couple of times a season and typically to kick off the morning practices. So plan on having your swimmers stay a little longer after practice and enjoy pancakes, sausage and watermelon with their teammates. We plan on having another pancake breakfast on Wednesday 7/9.
• Thursday 7/10 is our home mini meet. We are also trying to schedule our team picture for that morning before the meet – but we have not confirmed yet. And then the kids can stick around to cheer on our little sailfish as well as the older kids to help time at the meet.
• Wednesday 7/16 will be our team party with a rain date of Thursday 7/17 which we will also use if we need to use 7/16 as a make up date for a cancelled swim meet.

Also stay tuned for some pep rallies, but we are still working out the details. We will send email updates as well as update the calendar on our team website.
