Lots going on this week

Hi Sailfish Families,

I cannot believe this is our last week of all team practices! And what a busy week it is going to be!

First Congratulations to our mini Sailfish for finishing out the season with their last meet this morning at Red Rocks. And a big Thank You to our coaches Daniel & Ava and all our amazing mentors on a great season!

We were all disappointed that our last home meet had to be cancelled due to the weather last Wednesday. Fortunately, we were able to schedule a make up meet against the Belmont Sharks for this Wednesday 7/17. We know it was last minute and not everyone can make it, but we are excited to host our last home meet and watch some great swims! Since the number of swimmers from both teams are smaller, we definitely need all hands on deck to make the meet run smoothly. So please check the volunteer opportunities or reach out to Rachael if you can help.

After we all recover from the Wednesday night meet, we will get back together to celebrate another successful Sailfish season on Thursday night for our team party! You don’t want to miss the party – it is always a highlight of the season for the families. We will be catering with pasta from Travinia, - so please be sure to RSVP on the signup so we order enough food. We will also have an award ceremony and a slide show, as well as lots of time to play in the pool, which will be closed to all except the swim team and families! There has also been some talk about a parent vs. kid relay. If we have enough interest we will have the relay at 5:30pm. Please signup if you are interested in participating in the parent relay.

If there has not been enough celebrating, there is more! All the mentors are invited to an ice cream sundae party after practice on Friday at 10:45am to thank them for all of their time and service volunteering to help our younger sailfish.

And don’t forget Divisionals on Saturday morning! All swimmers are eligible to swim in Divisionals unless you have qualified for All Stars in 2 or more strokes. Also you must have swam a stroke in 2 meets in order to swim it at Divisionals. And for those swimmers close to qualifying – you are able to qualify for All Stars at Divisionals! Please make sure you have committed your swimmers for Saturday’s meet. It’s a fun time swimming against multiple teams from our division.

Finally, the photographer who took our team picture also comes to a meet and takes candid shots. Since our Wednesday night meet was cancelled he came to our meet at Broadlands on Saturday. Here are the photos from the photographer at Saturday’s meet and here are the team pictures. You are welcome to download and print any of these pictures.

See you all on the pool deck. Go Sailfish!
